Privacy Policy
Summary
- You can study without an account. Then your progress stays in your own browser.
- If you create an account, we store your name, email, chosen language, daily goal and study progress so you can continue on any device.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers.
- You can export or delete your data at any time in Settings.
Information we collect
If you create an account:
- Your name and email address.
- Your password. It is handled by our authentication provider and stored only in hashed form. We never see it.
- Your primary language and daily study goal.
- Your study progress: completed lessons, XP and streaks, missed practice questions, and practice exam scores and history.
If you do not create an account: your progress, language and settings are saved only in your browser's local storage on your device. We do not receive them.
How we use it
- To run your account and sign you in.
- To save and sync your progress across devices and exam pages.
- To show the site in your chosen language.
- To answer messages you send us.
We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell or rent it.
Service providers
- Supabase provides our sign-in and database. Account and progress data are stored on Supabase servers.
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr deliver fonts and code libraries. Like any website request, these services receive your IP address and browser information when the page loads.
- AI tutor: if the AI tutor feature is turned on, the text of the practice question and your answer are sent to our AI provider to create an explanation. We do not send your name or email with these requests.
Cookies and local storage
PrepNex does not use advertising cookies. We use your browser's local storage to remember your progress, language and settings, and to keep you signed in.
Your choices and rights
- Export: Settings → Your data → Download my data.
- Delete: Settings → Delete account removes your account and synced progress. You can also clear local progress for any single exam in Settings.
- Correct: you can change your name, email, password, language and goal in Settings.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the California CCPA), you may have other rights, such as the right to access, correct or delete your data. Email adolphecarlyvenson@gmail.com and we will help.
Data retention
We keep account data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your account and synced progress are deleted from our database.
Security
Connections to PrepNex and our providers use HTTPS. Passwords are never stored in plain text. No method of storing data online is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
PrepNex is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the "Last updated" date above when we do.
